The Baron is full right now, so I'm staying at The Kabul Lodge. It's not in the best area of town but because of that it's very secure. Entering here with our driver was the first time I've knowingly had a loaded gun pointed at me. A bit of an interesting feeling I can assure you. Not one I'd like to have again...
The food here is fairly decent. The rooms are a bit of a stretch though. I'm living in a done-up sea-can type cargo container basically. All stacked together and bolted. They are very well done up inside, but still is what it is.
I can't wait to be back at the Baron.
Dubai was interesting. The morning of my departure in the wee hours, they received a massive amount of rain. So much so, the streets couldn't cope. There were flooded roads, and shops, traffic was a total nightmare!
Our flight was a little bit delayed due to thunderstorms in the area again today, but otherwise went off without a hitch.
The internet is very restricted here, so I am having difficulty writing this... Keeps kicking me off the site. More when I arrive at The Baron!
